Job Description

Quality Control Inspector The Quality Control Inspector position at Amherst Tool is a key role within our organization. We are seeking detail-oriented, self-motivated, and creative individuals. Our departments machine a wide range of metal and plastic materials while holding tight tolerances. Amherst Tool values individuals with practical problem-solving skills and those who take pride in their work. We value accountability, integrity, mutual respect, and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Perform incoming and final inspection. Inspect machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications. Use precision measuring instruments and complex inspection equipment to verify very close tolerances and specifications. Record, analyze, and report the outcome of quality inspections. Operate coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Perform gage and tool calibration. Maintain calibration records. Work well with all levels of the organization. Perform other quality functions as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Read and interpret complicated blueprints. Strong communication skills, with an ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy. Strong mathematical skills. Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, e.g. Prior quality experience operating CMM technology is a plus. On-the-job training is provided
