Job Description
Position Description The position performs a wide range of testing tasks and laboratory administration to support polyurethane foam research & development, and quality evaluation. This role works under the direction of the Technical Manager and collaborates with the technical team to perform physical and analytical testing Essential Duties and Responsibilities Physical Testing Cut foam blocks and pillows on the band saw into test specimens according to ASTM standards. Perform physical testing on foam samples including: Indentation Force Deflection (IFD) Compression Force Deflection (CFD) Compression Set Tensile Strength, Tear Strength, and Elongation Recovery Time Airflow Testing Ball Rebound Density Dynamic Fatigue Sieve Test for the gels Accurately record, verify, and report physical testing results in excel sheets Identify unusual or inconsistent test results and communicate findings to the Technical Manager. Analytical Testing Perform analytical testing on raw materials, quality samples, and foam samples using laboratory instruments such as: DSC Karl Fischer Near
