Job Title:
Quality Control Technician Job Description The Quality Control Technician supports a high-volume food manufacturing operation by ensuring product quality, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and helping to train new team members. This role works closely with production leadership to support effective shift handovers, uphold quality standards in food manufacturing and packaging, and contribute to a consistent, efficient production process. Responsibilities Train new workers on quality control procedures, production processes, and workplace standards to ensure they perform their duties correctly and safely. Maintain housekeeping standards at all times to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary food production environment. Work closely with Production Supervisors and other production leaders to ensure smooth and effective production handovers between shifts. Apply knowledge of food manufacturing principles, practices, and procedures to monitor and support consistent product quality. Support quality control and quality assurance activities, including inspection of products and packaging to identify and address any deviations from standards. Assist in monitoring production and packaging processes to help ensure they meet established quality and productivity goals. Demonstrate a results-oriented approach by focusing on achieving quality and productivity targets in a steady, structured production environment. Maintain professional, calm, and controlled behavior while communicating with diverse team members in a fast-paced production setting. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, especially when working near moving equipment and machinery. Follow all cleanliness and sanitation requirements to support food safety and regulatory compliance. Essential Skills Bilingual fluency in Spanish to communicate effectively with production staff. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with diverse populations and personalities while maintaining a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor. Ability to keep emotions under control and consistently exhibit professional behavior in a production environment. Self-motivation and a results-oriented approach to meeting quality and productivity objectives. Understanding of principles, practices, and procedures of a food manufacturing environment. Ability to lead and motivate others to obtain desired results and achieve productivity goals. Above average concentration and intensity to focus on repetitive tasks and quality checks. Above average memory to retain procedures, standards, and production requirements. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner around moving equipment and machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in quality control or quality assurance within a food manufacturing and packaging environment. Hands-on experience with inspection, packaging, and production processes in a manufacturing setting. Comfort working in a structured, predictable role where similar tasks are completed each shift in a consistent order. Ability to perform effectively in a steady work pace environment with minimal downtime. Work Environment This is a first-shift position, typically working from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Cookies Production - Mixing/Mini Pan department, with standard 8-hour shifts and Saturday work as part of the regular schedule. The role is based in a standard food production warehouse environment, working near moving equipment such as forklifts and machinery including conveyor belts and production lines. The facility has moderate to loud noise levels, fluorescent lighting, and requires strict cleanliness and sanitation at all times. The production environment includes the smells of cookies and other food products, and products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts and tree nuts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
