Job Description

Description Permanent position for a Quality Engineer supporting capital equipment and construction projects for an industrial energy services provider. Review vendor quality documentation and fabricated work for compliance with project technical specifications and construction codes. Develop inspection and test plans, quality control procedures, and testing methods, and verify their implementation across active projects. Perform inspections and surveillance at vendor facilities and project sites covering welding, bolting, dimensional verification, equipment installation and alignment, coatings, preservation, and storage. Prepare inspection and surveillance reports and maintain quality records including NCRs, OS&D logs, calibration records, inspection schedules, and commissioning and preservation documentation. Lead root cause analysis investigations and drive corrective actions to closure with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Analyze quality data and report defect trends, open findings, and program status to management. Conduct vendor audits and maintain the third-party inspection sourcing database. Manage the internal inspection schedule and coordinate inspection activity with clients, purchasing, expediting, and logistics. Compile and review final MDR books at project closeout and provide technical guidance to team members on quality practices. Requirements Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in a fabrication, industrial, or construction environment. Working knowledge of construction and fabrication codes and standards such as
AWS D1.1, ASME
B31.1 and
B31.3, ASME
Section VIII and IX, AISC, and NACE. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, weld maps, and inspection and construction documentation. Proficiency with dimensional inspection methods and instrumentation. Experience preparing inspection reports, NCRs, and quality records within a document management system. Ability to travel to vendor shops and project sites. AWS Certified Welding Inspector a plus. Rotating equipment inspection experience a plus. #ERGx
