Job Description

BASIC FUNCTIONS
The QA Technician inspects, verifies, and confirms product compliance, monitors, and develops inspection processes, directs the use of inspection and testing equipment for proper inspection techniques and applications and provides technical support to the organization. This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned duties.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Performs detailed inspections on basic and intricate components, parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and materials to verify they conform to military, aerospace, industry and customer requirements, specifications, and standards Provide Quality reports and data analysis on compliance and performance aspects relative to the product, supplier, and internal performance parameters Proficient in the utilization of inspection measuring instruments, maintaining records of part inspections Reviews and interpret drawings, process procedures, test procedures, and quality documents to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products Able to perform First Article Inspections, Product Verification and Test, and Product Lot Testing Review FAI reports to assure acceptance by government (DCMA) other government agencies and aftermarket customers Inspect and submit product to be source inspected by DCMA, other government agencies and aftermarket customers Ensures product meets the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements Supports operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and supports implementation of corrective measures Ability to set up and operate of the quality inspection center inspection equipment Assists in identifying improvement opportunities and participate in improvement events as assigned Maintain professional level of communication both internal to the organization as well as externally to customers and suppliers Utilization of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing concepts for inspections Identify and apply reference material (material tables, sampling plans, etc.) IAW ASTM, ASME, MILSPEC and ANSI standards and make sound decisions resulting from the information available Utilizes CMM, comparator and precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to measure product dimensions and confirm compliance to specifications and standards Identifies and documents defects to facilitate final product disposition in an efficient timely manner, up to and including material review board reviews as an MRB member Inspects and tests parts, subassemblies and assemblies after rework, modifications, and repairs to verify defects have been corrected Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and supports implementation of corrective measure Develop, write, and implement quality procedures in support of the quality policies Conduct quality audits to confirm processes are being accurately completed Communicate regularly with Manager to ensure contract and customer deadlines are being met. Maintain a professional and organized work area for cleanliness, organization and proper location of product and materials. Support a safe work environment, using safety equipment, ensure safety equipment used in the areas is proper, safe, and used in a productive manner. Awareness of the quality of work being performed and strive to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations. Promote a positive culture and teamwork, motivate self and support others to accomplish important objectives in the work environment Daily interaction with Manager and staff colleagues and contributes actively to achieving company and departmental goals. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards. Perform other related duties and personnel backups as assigned and contributes to team effort Perform other duties as necessary.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
Comply with all requirements of International Standard ISO9001 and
ISO27001, NIST 800-171, CMMC
- Cyber Security and Informational Data Security Requirements. Aerospace Management System Standards AS9100, AS9120, ASA-100 and supporting construct standards
AS6081,AC7402-CAAP, CCAP-101, FAA AC00-56, ANSI/ESD S20.20.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCY
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient with thorough knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite:
Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook Bachelor's/ Technical Degree or related Discipline a plus Five plus years working experience in an aerospace / similar inspection environment is a benefit Knowledge and understanding of
FAR, DFARS, DLA, DCMA
regulations and clauses beneficial ISO/AS Auditor Certification helpful
ASQ Certification Quality Certification Pay:
$27.40 - $30.29 per hour
