Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for performing quality control inspections, evaluating issues, and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance with project standards. They develop and maintain inspection procedures, reports, and checklists, while coordinating and tracking nonconformance reports through resolution. The role includes monitoring field activities, conducting inspections and tests, and ensuring all work aligns with established plans, specifications, and quality control requirements. At more advanced levels, the Quality Engineer applies expert inspection techniques and data analysis methods to identify trends, improve processes, and enhance overall quality performance.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform quality control inspections and document results Evaluate issues and recommend corrective actions Develop and maintain inspection procedures and checklists Track and coordinate nonconformance reports to closure Monitor field activities for compliance with plans and specifications Analyze data to identify trends and drive quality improvementsMaintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.

Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.

Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.

Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.

Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Required QualificationsCurrent or prior certification as an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (for Mechanical Inspectors) Advanced knowledge of quality regulations, policies, and procedures Strong ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical documents Proven experience researching issues and recommending effective QC solutions Familiarity with QC standards (ASME, ISO, ANSI/ASME
NQA-1, US NRC
) and construction codeAbility to handle confidential information with discretionStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolutionPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of DOE quality control programs with 3+ years of experience Completion of a recognized apprenticeship certification program Additional relevant education or professional certifications in a related field Experience using Romer/Faro measurement equipment Experience performing helium leak testing Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Active DOE Q Clearance and HRP status preferredWhat We OfferBGI offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible full-time employees, in accordance with plan documents, including:
