Job Title:
Soil Lab Technician Job Description The Soil Lab Technician plays a key role in supporting soil stabilization products by performing comprehensive soil testing and analysis. This position works closely with engineering and operations teams to evaluate soil suitability, support project design, and ensure high-quality results for customers. The role also includes on-site visits to train customers on the correct application of Perma-Zyme and to provide consultative support in the field. Responsibilities Perform geotechnical studies, field tests, and laboratory analyses to determine soil composition and assess whether it is a good candidate for Perma-Zyme. Conduct materials testing on soils and aggregates, including sampling, testing, and inspection of silt, clay, and various soil types. Manage shipping and receiving of soil samples, ensuring accurate labeling and tracking by customer. Carry out site quality analysis and quality verification, including performing strength tests on soil samples. Provide consultative services to customers during on-site visits, explaining test results and recommending appropriate use of soil stabilization products. Deliver on-site training to customers on the correct application and installation of Perma-Zyme. Oversee on-site management of laboratory equipment and testing setups to ensure accurate and reliable results. Support on-site operations during product demonstrations and installations, working directly with clients and field teams. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and customers to address questions, provide guidance, and ensure a positive experience. Handle multiple samples and tasks simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and data accuracy. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of experience with materials or soil testing. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer-facing or client-facing role with strong communication skills. Knowledge of silt, soil, and clay and their characteristics in the context of materials testing. Hands-on experience with soil sampling, materials testing, and inspection of soils and aggregates. Ability to work comfortably with silt, clay, and different types of soil in both field and lab environments. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling, labeling, and documenting multiple samples at the same time. Customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with clients and customers. Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods in a laboratory setting. Ability to drive to remote locations to support field testing and customer site visits. Additional Skills & Qualifications Expereince or education in environmental science is beneficial. Familiarity with ACI standards or related materials testing guidelines is an advantage. Exposure to or experience with Atterberg limits testing (employer is open to any amount of experience and willing to provide training). Interest in becoming an expert in soil stabilization technologies and innovative, environmentally friendly products. Comfort working in a small company environment with opportunities to take on varied responsibilities and "wear multiple hats." Work Environment This role operates in both laboratory and field environments. In the lab, you will stand for extended periods while performing tests and managing equipment in a hands-on, technical setting. In the field, you will travel approximately 30% to 40% of the time to remote and rural locations to demonstrate soil stabilization technology, train clients, and oversee installation on dirt roads and similar projects. The position offers frequent exposure to clients, close collaboration with engineering and operations teams, and the chance to contribute to green, environmentally friendly solutions. The company is a small team of about a dozen employees, providing significant opportunities for growth, cross-functional work, and professional development. Work is generally performed on weekdays, with a schedule aligned to standard business hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henderson, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
