Job Description

The Quality Specialist is responsible for first piece inspection, in-process and final products using open set-up, CMM and inspection methods and techniques in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications. You will bring good communication skills and be able to read and follow AMETEK work instructions and quality procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances including and understanding of maximum material conditions Inspect detail parts and assemblies per drawing requirement and specs using standard measuring equipment Prepare and maintain inspection reports Collect and tabulate data for SPC use Review Supplier F.A.I.R./Generate First Article Reports per AS9102 Test final assemblies using electrical test equipment. Other duties as directed by the management
Required Skills and Abilities:
Basic computer knowledge including MS Excel and Word, as well as inputs into online Customer portals. Interpret drawing requirements/specs and geometric dimensions and tolerances Familiar with MIL, NAS, MS, AMS, AWS and AS specifications and standards Familiar with special process specifications for processes, welding, and non-destructive testing.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate 3-5 Years mechanical inspection, aerospace experience Post high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields a plus
Equipment Used:
Vernier and Digital calipers. Micrometers Height Gauges Other standard measuring tools/instruments Various electrical testing equipment Due to the nature of Hughes-Treitler's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the US and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
