The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring and evaluating critical quality parameters during production processes to ensure compliance with internal specifications, regulatory standards, and customer expectations. This role involves real-time sampling, analytical testing, process validation, and documentation to uphold product integrity from raw material usage through final stages of production. Quality Control Technician role is highly collaborative, with critical and frequent interactions between Quality, Production, Sanitation, and Operations teams. This role is exclusively on the production floor, with minimal (1-2 hours per week) of lab work if required by the QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Analysis:
- Collect and analyze in-process samples to verify quality and compliance with product specifications.
- Record test results accurately and promptly report deviations to relevant departments.
Validation of Washed Products:
- Validate cleanliness (visual inspection and swabs) and quality of washed components and equipment before further use.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and traceability of washed items.
Raw Material Verification:
- Inspect and verify lot codes and expiration dates of raw materials being used in production.
- Ensure raw materials match the required amounts and are within acceptable limits and stored under proper conditions.
Process Monitoring & Control:
- Monitor key process parameters such as break times, temperatures, agitation speeds, etc. and processing durations.
- Report any abnormalities or out-of-specification conditions to production and QA teams.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Communicate with other QC Technicians to keep detailed notes between shift changeovers
- Turn in daily reports to QA Manager including, but not limited to, observations, verifications,
KPI's Communication & Teamwork:
- Collaborate closely with Production, QA, and Maintenance teams to ensure process consistency and product quality.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment, preferably in food, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or other quality systems is a plus.
- Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 Hours
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 60 pounds
- Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance
- Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, work overhead, work in confined spaces and work in very hot and very cool environments
- While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
