Job Description

We are looking for a Final QC Technician to join our Quality team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will perform final quality inspections and support shipping activities to ensure our cold heads, compressors, and spare parts meet the highest standards before they are delivered to customers around the world. Interested? Keep reading! Your tasks will include performing final quality control inspections on all new and repaired cold heads and compressors to meet daily shipping schedules. You will work closely with the Shipping Department to coordinate final QC checks and ensure all products are packaged according to Bluefors standards. Following established quality checklists, you will verify product requirements, complete and deliver all necessary documentation, and communicate with internal departments to confirm customer-specific order details. You will also track shipping-related inventory and notify Supply Chain of replenishment needs, maintain 6S standards in shipping areas, and assist with packaging, boxing spare parts, loading trucks, and coordinating with common carriers to ensure products are shipped safely and efficiently. We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints, use leak detectors and power tools, and apply basic math skills, including working with fractions and decimals. Strong product knowledge, technical and mechanical aptitude, and basic computer skills are important for success in this role. You should be highly detail-oriented, dependable, and able to communicate effectively while working independently and as part of a team. We also appreciate candidates who have prior experience in quality control, shipping, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with leak detection, packaging procedures, and material handling will help you stand out. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment This role operates in a manufacturing environment and interacts primarily with internal customers in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as applicable. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, heat, cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
