Job Details:
Office hours: 7:45 am to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Friday in office.
Hourly rate:
$20- 30 per hour. " Salary commensurate with experience"
Job Summary:
Mechanical Inspector supports the DMIR & Mechanical Inspector in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical components and systems. Responsible for conducting detailed inspections, this role involves assessing materials, components, and processes to meet industry standards. The Inspector will collaborate with cross-functional teams, interpret blueprints, and utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure the accuracy and reliability of mechanical products. A keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles are essential for success in this role.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and quality checks on incoming raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Follow established inspection procedures and quality control guidelines to assess product conformity and identify any non-conformances. Utilize various measurements and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and precision in inspections. Record and maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, including test results, measurements, related documentation, and observations. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to execute inspection plans and ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to investigate and resolve quality issues. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and measurement tools. Familiarity with quality standards and regulations relevant to the industry (e.g., ISO 9001, industry-specific standards). Proficient in using measurement and testing equipment, such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and optical comparators. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities. Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and document management.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent; technical certifications or additional education in quality assurance or related fields is a plus.
