This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy and enjoys working with precision measurement equipment. The CMM Operator will be responsible for operating Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) , analyzing inspection results, verifying product conformance, and helping ensure manufactured components meet customer and quality specifications. What You'll Do Operate Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect production parts against customer and engineering specifications. Load and run established CMM programs and follow documented setup and inspection procedures. Review and analyze CMM inspection reports to identify dimensional discrepancies or non-conforming parts. Perform manual verification of measurements when necessary using precision inspection equipment. Communicate measurement results, irregularities, and non-conformances to machine operators, quality personnel, and production teams. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements . Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, comparators, and other inspection tools . Accurately complete production, inspection, and quality documentation. Manage inspection priorities to support production schedules and on-time delivery requirements. Maintain CMM equipment, inspection records, and departmental supplies. Follow established procedures for document and record control. Support the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and established quality procedures. Participate in continuous improvement activities related to quality, inspection, and manufacturing processes. Take ownership of assigned inspection activities and communicate potential quality concerns promptly. Perform additional quality-related responsibilities as assigned. What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 1 year of hands-on CMM operating experience . Previous experience in a manufacturing, machining, or quality inspection environment strongly preferred. Experience with Zeiss CMM equipment is highly preferred. Working knowledge of computers, including basic software, electronic manuals, and quality recordkeeping. Basic understanding of instrumentation and controls. Skills & Abilities Ability to operate CMM equipment and follow established inspection programs and setup procedures. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings . Experience using precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and comparators . Ability to understand and interpret CMM inspection reports. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and communicate dimensional or quality concerns. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize inspections based on production needs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand and move throughout a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
