Prospect Mold and Die is looking to add a Faro Arm/PCMM Inspection Operator to our talented workforce. Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inspection Personnel specialized in Faro Arm/PCMM (Precision Coordinate Measuring Machine) to join our dynamic quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting precise measurements and inspections of manufactured components to ensure they meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our quality systems, support continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold compliance with industry regulations This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced measurement tools and contribute directly to the delivery of top-tier products. Responsibilities Operate Faro Arm portable coordinate measuring machines (CMM) systems to perform detailed dimensional inspections of complex parts and assemblies. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, and other handheld tools for quality control assessments. Collect and analyze measurement data accurately, documenting findings in compliance with quality management systems (QMS). Conduct regular quality audits to verify adherence to manufacturing specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures. Support calibration activities for measurement equipment to ensure ongoing accuracy and reliability. Assist in root cause analysis of non-conformances identified during inspections and contribute to corrective action plans. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve inspection processes, reduce variability, and enhance overall product quality. Review the Manufacturing Schedule for the estimated amount of inspection time allotted and attempt to stay below those hours for that specific job. Work with the Large Machine Supervisor and the CMS Manager to keep work flowing through the department by informing the CMS Manager of estimated completion times so the next job can be scheduled correctly. Requirements Proven experience operating Faro Arm portable CMMs or similar 3D measurement systems within a manufacturing or quality control environment. Strong knowledge of
ISO 13485
standards for medical device manufacturing or related regulatory frameworks such as FDA regulations. Familiarity with calibration procedures for precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, vision systems, and other handheld tools. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail to identify deviations from specifications promptly. Strong communication skills to document inspection results clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
