QUALITY & RECEIVING TECHNICIAN

Position Description:

The Quality & Inventory Technician is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and quality of materials and finished goods throughout the production cycle. This role performs incoming material inspections, completes receiving and data entry in the JobBoss ERP system, verifies finished goods quality, and manages the physical stocking of materials and completed products. The technician supports production and purchasing teams by ensuring materials meet specifications and inventory records remain accurate and current. Position Objectives Support continuous improvement of quality and material handling processes to reduce errors and delays. Maintain customer satisfaction through minimizing external quality non-conformances Achievement of on-time shipping through accurate and timely receiving of parts

Position Responsibilities:

Utilize JobBoss ERP system to manage product location. Inspect and document incoming materials for quality compliance against specifications and standards. Communicate inventory and quality discrepancies and assist with identifying root causes and corrective actions. Physically stock approved materials after inspection. Perform finished goods inspections to ensure conformance. Examine documents, materials, and work processes for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards and specifications. Cross-train with Shipping and provide coverage during absences, vacations, or high workload periods. Participate in production meetings, providing updates on material status and follow-ups. Attend plant production meetings to report on delivery readiness and resolve open issues. Recommend and implement process improvements related to quality and inventory control. Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives across departments. Conduct and support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.

Skills and Abilities:

Qualifications & Experience - Vocational training, related on-the-job experience, or an Associates degree preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing, inventory control, or quality inspection is highly desirable. Familiarity with ERP systems (JobBoss experience preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Prior experience in reading manufacturing blueprints is highly desirable. Skills - Active Listening Understand and respond effectively to feedback and instructions. Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Near vision sufficient for detailed inspection work. Strong oral and written comprehension and expression. Ability to recognize problems early and apply reasoning to reach logical conclusions. Proficient keyboarding and computer use for ERP and reporting systems.
