Job Description
Job Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Technician to support the testing, inspection, and continuous improvement of our custom electrical control panels and manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring our products and environment meet quality standards while helping develop and improve manufacturing and testing processes. Responsibilities Include Perform detailed quality inspections and checks on custom industrial control panels and related assemblies to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications. Conduct electrical testing of control panels, including safe panel energization, and document test results accurately and consistently. Read and interpret electrical schematics in both JIC and IEC formats to verify correct wiring, component placement, and panel configuration. Support root cause failure analysis by investigating defects, nonconformances, and test failures, and contribute to effective corrective and preventive actions. Develop, refine, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and testing processes to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing environment. Drive quality initiatives that improve product reliability, reduce defects, and enhance overall process efficiency. Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely defect resolution. Maintain and control quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and process documentation, to ensure traceability and compliance. Support the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and quality control practices throughout the manufacturing process. Provide feedback and recommendations on process improvements, tooling, and methods that enhance product quality and consistency. Assist in training or guiding other team members on quality standards, inspection techniques, and testing procedures as needed. Skills & Qualifications Continuous Improvement mindset with experience developing procedures, improving processes, and driving quality initiatives Quality Assurance experience including inspections, testing documentation, and defect resolution Strong understanding of electrical principles, troubleshooting, and safe panel energization Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics in both JIC and IEC formats Experience working around, building, wiring, and/or testing custom industrial control panels Work Environment This role operates within a manufacturing environment focused on custom electrical control panels. You will work around electrical equipment, wiring, and energized panels, following established safety practices and procedures. The position involves regular interaction with production and engineering teams on the shop floor and in test areas, using tools and equipment for electrical testing, inspection, and documentation control. The work setting emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration, and adherence to defined quality processes and standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eastlake, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
