Job Description
Fixed Compensation for 2026 based on $20.00 an hour: $41,600.00 straight wages 40hrs/week $8,600.00 health insurance premium company pays, or hourly equivalent $15,000.00 company provide truck for business use only $2,080.00 401K contribution at 5% gross contribution $69,360.00 is our fixed entry level position with three weeks PTO and 401K match Higher hourly pay is derived from industry experience or life experience; we will pay for verifiable experience. These do not include overtime, bonuses, per diem, occasional provided meals, raises, or the insulation from inflation. Benchmark employees never felt the cost of fuel increasing, insurance increases, cost of vehicles increasing, or maintenance. We look at wages twice a year to ensure employees are fairly compensated based on performance and cost of living. Benchmark Construction is look for an experienced or inexperienced Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform a variety of Construction Materials Testing and Sampling, including but not limited to: testing concretes/asphalts/soils in the lab setting and field setting (job sites and plant sites). This position will work in both the indoor and outdoor environments, year-round. To be successful in this position, candidate must demonstrate exceptional time management skills with little oversight from supervisor. This position will work out of our Ardmore office in support of the construction of the new Roosevelt Bridge over Lake Texoma and other job sites, when necessary. We are looking for a candidate that has previous experience but it is not critical. Character is far more important than any previous job experience. Conditions of Employment:
- Needs a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle (minor infractions not considered)
- Must maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver's License
- Must have an operable cell phone
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on and off throughout the day
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions
Responsibilities Field Effort:
Mandatory- Respond to requests from home office lab for materials sampling and pickup
- Respond to requests from clients for materials testing at job sites
- Perform materials tests per job specifications and maintain test logs
- Manage sample locations and pick up samples when appropriate
- Upload test reports of tests performed in the field in a timely manner
- Manage yourself and your truck with minimal oversight
Lab Effort:
Mandatory- Conduct various tests against samples collected in the field
- Document results of tests and communicate deficiencies promptly
- Ensure lab equipment is calibrated routinely
- Strive to learn new tests and methods
- Train new personnel as the lab services grow
- Maintain a clean working space Skills (not a disqualifier if missing)
- Experience in a relevant or supervisory position
- Prioritize and complete daily tasks accurately
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to learn other computer programs
- Willingness to learn
