Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Kelvion, one of the leading global manufacturers of heat exchangers is seeking to hire a detail-oriented Quality Technician to work with our Quality Team at our Paducah, Kentucky location. The primary responsibility of the Quality Technician will be to perform incoming inspections to prevent non-conforming parts or materials from being used in the manufacturing process. In addition, this individual will assist in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for Kelvion. This will include process auditing, product quality objectives and other activities related to the manufacturing process.
OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF ROLE
To improve the overall quality of products being manufactured and ensuring conformance to engineering and quality standards are met by performing receiving inspections on incoming parts and materials.
PRIMARY CUSTOMER FOCUS
To ensure Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which includes quality, safety and functionality, is evident in the work completed by the Quality Department, guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Perform local deliveries to customer and pick-ups from local vendors Initiate and maintains tool program Assist in determining the room cause for quality problems Assist in issuing corrective actions for non-conforming material Audit internal processes for conformance Perform inspections on manufactured products, works in process and finishing goods, to ensure procedures are being followed and the products meet the specified standards. Initiate "Quality Alerts" when non-conformances are identified Be able to perform continue improvement activities, such as Lean Manufacturing, 6S Kaizen events, workplace organization, etc. Ensure inspection records and reports are kept in a timely manner Build and retain local customer relationships for quality needs.

REQUIREMENTS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES) Must exhibit good interpersonal skills and be a "Team" player. Be able to deal with change and respond quickly to a fast-paced environment. Perform duties in an assertive, hands-on manner, with good attention to detail. Must possess good time management skills. Must possess good analytical problem-solving skills. Shall possess a basic understanding of statistical concepts. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision and cooperate in a team environment. Be able to read prints and product drawings. Be able to perform inspections using common measuring equipment and devices, such as gauges, micrometers, and other measure equipment. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as have excellent math skills and ability to process numbers quickly to produce charts
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
(required levels) Minimum of a High School Diploma Possess a working knowledge of the Association of American Railroads (AAR) M-1003 standards Must have three to five (3-5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
