The Quality Control Technician is responsible for testing and inspecting products and parts within a manufacturing environment to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and customer specifications. This role supports quality assurance processes, maintains calibration programs, and facilitates audits to uphold ISO 9001 and other regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Perform incoming, first-off, in-process, and final inspections according to Inspection Test Plans, regulatory guidelines, and customer requirements. Generate inspection and test reports, certificates of compliance, and inspection test plans. Maintain and execute the calibration program in accordance with standards and procedures. Facilitate inspections and audits conducted by external regulatory bodies, customers, and auditors. Issue certificates of conformance for products. Implement test methods and procedures that meet regulatory and customer specifications. Conduct FAIs (First Article Inspections) or PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) layouts as required. Provide guidance to QC inspectors and operators on quality checks and inspections. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer specifications, and quality best practices. Investigate customer complaints and prepare RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) reports. Order materials and equipment for the quality control lab. Assist with daily operations of the Quality Department. Perform other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of quality inspection, measuring, and testing equipment. Knowledge ofISO 9001
Quality System requirements. Familiarity with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and problem-solving tools (8 Disciplines, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, Process mapping). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Office 365. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Sound judgment and proactive approach to problem-solving. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably in a Quality Assurance or Technician role, is required. Experience in plastics injection/blow molding preferred Physical Requirements Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment. Standing, walking, stooping, and bending are frequent and required. Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds. The ability to stand for at least 8 - 12 hours on a concrete surface is required. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.
