Machine Shop Inspector Level 2

Clackamas, OR Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-Time Day Shift:
Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30
PM Who We Are:
We are a manufacturer of precision machined components specializing in close-tolerance parts, assemblies, prototyping, and production runs. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction drives everything we do. We are seeking a detail-oriented Machine Shop Inspector Level 2 to help ensure our products consistently meet customer specifications and industry standards by preventing non-conforming products from reaching our customers.
What You'll Do:
Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of complex weldments, fully machined parts, components, assemblies, and raw materials. Document and communicate inspection results accurately and effectively. Prepare First Article and In-Process Inspection reports utilizing precision handheld measurement equipment, CMMs, gauges, and other inspection tools. Review customer drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria to determine appropriate inspection methods and identify any drawing or specification discrepancies. Respond to customer requests and inquiries related to product quality and inspection findings. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to prevent non-conforming products and support continuous process improvement initiatives. Generate non-conformance reports and assist with corrective action processes when necessary. Support and maintain compliance with
ISO 9001
2015 quality management system requirements and standards. Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Faro Laser Tracker equipment to verify product conformance. What's In It for

Have:
Extensive knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment. Strong understanding of machining processes and precision manufacturing practices. Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T requirements accurately. Experience performing detailed dimensional inspections on complex machined components and weldments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate CMM equipment with basic programming experience. Sound judgment with the ability to make independent decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn and effectively use company ERP systems. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
The Musts:
Ability to perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections with a high degree of accuracy. Experience preparing First Article and In-Process Inspection reports. Ability to create and manage non-conformance reports and support corrective action activities. Knowledge of quality system requirements and compliance standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and navigate throughout the production facility.
Preferred:
Associate degree in Quality Control, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field. OR Minimum of five years of experience as a Quality Inspector or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of
ISO 9001
2015 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems. Experience with Faro Laser Tracker operation. Previous experience inspecting precision machined components in a machine shop environment.
