Diamond E Testing is a materials testing and quality assurance company based in Portland, Oregon specializing in asphalt, aggregate, soil, and concrete testing. Diamond E Testing is looking for a dynamic and passionate full-time Construction Materials Testing Technician ,

What You Will Do:
Are you looking to elevate your career with a role that blends your technical knowledge and customer service skills? Join us as a Construction Materials Testing Technician working outside, making an impact on the community around you by conducting field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, etc.). Construction Materials Testing Technician position entails testing and inspection of heavy civil construction projects. These projects range in size and consist of roadway improvements, buildings, developments, infrastructure upgrades, and other projects with the Federal Highways, Oregon DOT, Local Municipalities, and others. Our testing includes Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) materials used to produce pavement, concrete, aggregate, soil, and various inspections to ensure materials comply with specifications. You will work with construction crews during the placement of materials in the field or in a laboratory to verify quality assurance on each project. The majority of work will be performed on construction sites, ranging from small roads to divided interstate highways, commercial projects, bridges, airport runways and more. Work may also be performed at production facilities or at suppliers' locations. Candidates with prior QC testing and inspection experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Observe production to ensure that proper procedures are followed, and conform to plans and specifications.
- Perform standard tests on materials to ensure the material meets the required specifications.
- Obtain and/or prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
- Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
- Maintain daily log of construction, testing, and inspection activities.
- Complete daily required reports, which involve sharp math skills.
- Density testing and coring in the field.
- Test HMA and concrete in our lab.
- Physically agile with ability to lift up to 100 lbs., stand and sit for long periods, reach and bend as necessary.
- Typical work days are 8-10 hours. Field needs can change with short notice. Flexibility is important.
- Arrive on time to job sites and/or the lab.
