Job Description
FEI Testing & Inspection, Inc. is seeking a motivated, dependable individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Materials Testing Technician . This position offers an excellent opportunity to begin a career in the construction materials testing and special inspection industry. No prior experience is required—we provide on-the-job training and support professional certification opportunities. Position Overview This position primarily consists of field services , with some laboratory testing . Technicians work at active construction sites performing testing and sampling of construction materials while ensuring accurate documentation of results. Laboratory work includes testing soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples in accordance with industry standards. Essential Duties Travel to active construction projects throughout the region. Perform field testing of construction materials in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards. Collect soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples for laboratory testing. Record test results and complete daily field reports accurately and thoroughly. Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and project managers. Perform laboratory testing on construction materials as assigned. Maintain testing equipment and company vehicles. Follow company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and basic math skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer and smartphone proficiency for electronic reporting.
