Job Description

Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector supports quality functions across packaging, warehousing, and distribution operations, ensuring that all clinical and commercial products processed through primary and secondary packaging meet GMP/cGMP, safety, and documentation standards. This role focuses on performing inspections on the production floor, maintaining accurate quality records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform quality inspections on clinical and commercial products during primary and secondary packaging operations. Move through manufacturing areas to inspect products at the machines, ensuring quality standards are met and identifying defects in real time. Retrieve bags of product from shipper boxes, place them on a light table, and visually examine product over the light to detect defects. Based on inspection findings and the amount of accumulated product, return bags to boxes, move them to inventory totes, or place them into bins for further sorting. Verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/cGMP) and internal quality systems throughout packaging and handling processes. Document inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Complete and maintain Daily Quality Status Reports (DQSR) with accurate and timely information. Maintain quality control documents at the machines, including labels, barcodes, Product Quality Records (PQR), and other relevant documentation. Support cross-functional teams, including operations, warehouse, and distribution, to investigate and resolve quality issues. Assist with root cause analysis and contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address recurring or critical quality concerns. Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of materials, including work in cold rooms and freezers when required. Follow established safety procedures and manufacturing protocols while working with equipment and materials. Essential Skills 2 to 3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in a manufacturing or quality-focused environment. Hands-on experience with quality inspection activities in a production or packaging setting. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/cGMP) and adherence to internal quality systems. Experience with batch records and documentation, including accurate completion and review of quality records. Strong attention to detail when inspecting products and reviewing documentation. Familiarity with manufacturing environments, equipment, and safety procedures. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform light physical work as part of daily duties. Ability to work in cold rooms and freezer environments when required for material handling and inspection. Effective communication skills to document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in quality control or quality assurance within packaging, warehousing, or distribution operations. Experience in using light tables or similar inspection tools for visual product examination. Exposure to maintaining and organizing quality control documents such as labels, barcodes, and Product Quality Records (PQR). Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Comfort working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment with defined procedures and standards. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing cleanroom environment that follows strict GMP/cGMP and safety standards. You will spend most of your time on the production floor, moving between machines to inspect products and working at a light table for detailed visual examinations. The position involves light physical work, including lifting up to 20 pounds and handling product bags and boxes. Some tasks require working in cold rooms and freezers to ensure proper storage and inspection of materials. You will work with standard manufacturing and quality documentation, including labels, barcodes, batch records, and Product Quality Records, in a highly controlled, process-driven setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
