Senior Quality Inspector Electronics & Defense Manufacturing Charleroi, PA Attractive Rates U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law We are seeking a Senior Quality Inspector - Electronics & Defense Manufacturing to support the inspection, testing, and quality assurance of electronic assemblies, components, materials, and equipment in a defense manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in electrical theory, electronic test equipment, IPC and MIL standards, ESD controls, GD&T, process control, and defect evaluation, with a preference for candidates eligible to obtain or holding a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Responsibilities:
Inspect parts, materials, assemblies, and equipment to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Perform real-time defect evaluation and determine product acceptability using established inspection criteria. Operate, configure, and monitor automated electronic and mechanical test equipment to validate product performance. Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections using standard measurement and test instruments. Prepare and maintain quality assurance documentation, inspection records, and test reports. Verify implementation of corrective actions and validate rework to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Apply ESD control procedures, IPC workmanship standards, and applicable military specifications throughout the inspection process. Support continuous process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and inspection processes, including the application of AI-enabled tools where appropriate. Collaborate with internal teams and, when required, suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance preferred at time of hire. High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 6 years of directly related quality inspection experience in electronics, manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments. Working knowledge of electrical theory and electronic assembly inspection techniques. Experience inspecting electronic assemblies, components, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of ESD control procedures, workmanship standards, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), statistical methods, and process control techniques. Experience setting up and using basic electronic and mechanical test configurations. Proficiency using mechanical measurement equipment and inspection tools. Ability to prepare quality documentation and verify corrective actions and rework. Certifications such as J-STD-001, J-STD-002, IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, and X-Ray Inspection may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or military manufacturing programs. Current certifications in
IPC, J-STD, MIL
standards, or X-Ray inspection.
