Quality Inspector Department:
Quality Reports to: CTO The Quality Inspector will perform critical inspections of manufactured and procured components, as well as inspections on airframes, powerplants, and logbooks. The Quality Inspector ensures that from raw materials to finished products, components meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
Responsibilities:
Perform Inspections:
Conduct receiving, in-process, and final dimensional inspections on machined or assembled aerospace components.
Read Specifications:
Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data.
Use Precision Tools:
Operate tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, borescopes, and other measuring devices.
Manage Non-Conformances:
Segregate, document, and quarantine defective or non-conforming parts, initiating corrective action requests when necessary.
Airworthiness Approval:
Inspect and sign off on aircraft repairs, modifications, and return-to-service documents under FAA regulations. Assure and maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures, standards, regulatory guidelines, and government requirements. Acts as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability, and safety. Contribute to establishing standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures. Institutes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures. Creates product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures. Collaborate with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods. Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Qualifications BA or BS in technical or related discipline
Licensure:
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance and quality inspection experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, schematic interpretation, and operating precision measurement equipment. Knowledge of safety requirements and legal standards (FAA FARs) Working knowledge of quality system requirements (AS9100) Experience with MS suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Teams, PPT) Preferred Experience with Non-Destructive Inspection
