GENERAL SUMMARY
The Machining Quality Floor Inspector•Level C is responsible for performing basic in-process and final inspections on machined components to ensure conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role supports production quality by following established inspection procedures and working closely with production personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform dimensional inspections using standard measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) Verify parts meet blueprint specifications and tolerances Conduct in-process and final inspections in accordance with work instructions Accurately record inspection results and maintain required documentation Identify and report non-conforming material to supervisor or quality personnel Segregate and properly label non-conforming parts Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area Follow all company quality procedures and safety requirements Support production by performing routine quality checks during machining operations Assist with basic inspection setups and first article checks as directed Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) High school diploma or GED required Basic math skills (decimals, fractions, measurements) Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Basic computer and data entry skills Good communication and teamwork abilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in a manufacturing or machining environment Familiarity with inspection tools and gauging methods Basic understanding of tolerances and blueprint reading
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods on the manufacturing floor; frequent use of hands for measuring and handling parts; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed; exposure to shop environment (noise, moving equipment, temperature variation).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is based on the manufacturing floor and requires close interaction with machine operators, supervisors, and quality personnel to maintain production quality standards.
