Job Title:
Receiving Inspector Job Description The Receiving Inspector ensures that all incoming materials and their associated documentation meet established quality inspection standards in accordance with the organization's Quality Management System (QMS). This role focuses on accurate inspection, documentation, and data entry for aviation surplus parts while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function. Responsibilities Perform detailed visual inspections of incoming parts and materials to verify their condition and conformity to requirements. Inspect and identify incoming material and related documentation as prescribed by purchase and repair orders, promptly highlighting any non-conformance or omissions. Review physical attributes, quantities, and associated records of incoming materials to determine readiness for release. Enter, verify, and validate the accuracy of all inspection and receiving data in the company database. Comply with electrostatic discharge (ESD) requirements when receiving and handling ESD-sensitive materials. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department on continuous improvement projects related to inspection and receiving processes. Handle aviation documentation, including forms such as 8130s and traceability records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Support material handling activities related to receiving and inspection, including proper labeling and storage based on inspection results. Interpret blueprints or related technical documents as needed to support inspection activities. Perform all other related duties as assigned to support the quality and receiving functions. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED is required. Minimum 1 year of experience processing aviation surplus parts is required. At least 1 year of job-related experience in receiving, inbound inspection, or a similar role is helpful. Experience with receiving or inbound inspection in a quality-focused environment. Familiarity with aviation documentation, including 8130 forms and traceability records. Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection practices. Ability to handle and inspect materials accurately, including verification of quantities and physical attributes. Proficiency with computers and the ability to accurately enter, verify, and validate data in a database. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection, documentation, and data entry. Ability to comply with ESD (electrostatic discharge) requirements when handling sensitive materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of ISO and/or AS quality standards is a plus. Experience working with aviation surplus parts and related documentation is highly beneficial. Ability to interpret blueprints or similar technical documents. Exp in material handling within a warehouse or inspection environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple incoming orders and documentation. Comfort working collaboratively with Quality Assurance and other departments on process improvements. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an air-conditioned warehouse environment focused on inbound receiving and inspection of aviation surplus parts. Standard inbound hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with an additional part-time shift available from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work involves handling materials, reviewing aviation documents such as 8130s, and using computer systems and databases to record inspection results and maintain traceability. All warehouse employees must wear steel-toe shoes starting on their first day of work, and the company provides reimbursement for these shoes up to a specified amount once an employee becomes permanent at the 90-day mark. The environment emphasizes adherence to ESD requirements when handling sensitive materials, as well as consistent application of quality and safety procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plant City, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
