This role assists the Quality Manager in maintaining document control, conducting inspections, administering the internal audit program, managing nonconforming material, and ensuring that quality records and calibration systems remain accurate, current, and audit ready. The Quality Coordinator works closely with Production, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure that parts, processes, and paperwork meet customer, regulatory, and AS9100D requirements at every stage. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspection & Product Conformity

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections using calibrated gauges, comparators, and measurement equipment to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and customer purchase order requirements.
• Complete and maintain First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102) for new or revised part numbers.
• Review job travelers, work orders, and process control records for accuracy and completeness prior to shipment.
• Identify, tag, segregate, and document nonconforming material (NCR) in accordance with the QMS Nonconforming Product procedure; support Material Review Board (MRB) dispositioning. Document & Records Control
• Maintain controlled copies of quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and the Master List (e.g., F752-01) to ensure only current revisions are in use on the shop floor.
• Process documents change requests, obtain required approvals, and archive obsolete revisions per the Document and Record Control procedure.
• Maintain calibration records and schedules for gauges, meters, and test equipment; coordinate outside calibration services and flag overdue equipment.
• Retain and organize quality records (inspection results, certifications, training records, audit reports) in accordance with the QMS retention schedule. Internal Audits & Continuous Improvement
• Assist in scheduling, conducting, and documenting internal audits of processes, departments, and shifts per the annual audit schedule.
• Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure, verifying root cause analysis and effectiveness of corrective action.
• Support management review by compiling quality metrics such as scrap/rework rates, on-time delivery, customer complaints, and audit findings.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and root-cause problem solving (5-Why, fishbone, 8D) for recurring quality issues. Customer & Supplier Quality
• Log, investigate, and respond to customer complaints and returns; assist in preparing corrective action responses (e.g., 8D, SCARs) within customer-required timeframes.
• Support supplier evaluation and monitoring activities, including incoming material inspection and supplier corrective action requests.
• Assist with maintaining certifications, test reports, and special process approvals required for aerospace and defense customers. Training & Compliance
• Maintain employee quality training records and assist in delivering QMS awareness and workmanship training to production staff.
• Support compliance with AS9100D clauses on human factors, foreign object debris (FOD) prevention, and product safety.
• Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental compliance requirements applicable to the planting and anodizing production environment.
• Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but may provide quality-related guidance and on-the-job training to production employees. Qualifications Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical, quality, or engineering discipline preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a quality assurance or inspection role within a manufacturing environment; plating, anodizing, or metal finishing experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of

2015 requirements and quality management system documentation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including GD&T basics.
• Proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, coating thickness testers) and basic statistical concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple quality records simultaneously.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word and job management systems (e.g., JobBoss) for record-keeping and reporting.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting nonconformances and reporting to management.
• Ability to work collaboratively across production, engineering, and customer-facing teams. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations (Preferred, Not Required)
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI).
• Internal auditor training for

AS9100D / ISO 9001

2015.

• NADCAP or special process awareness relevant to plating and anodizing operations. Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands to handle inspection tools and parts throughout a production shift.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Work is performed on the production floor of a plating and anodizing facility; exposure to industrial chemicals, fumes, and noise is possible and requires use of designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Vision requirements include close inspection work and the ability to distinguish color and surface finish variations.
