Success:
Assist Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI's) in setting up and performing pneumatic tests on standard waste boxes Support visual inspections and learn to recognize welding and fabrication attributes under direct supervision Participate in pre-fabrication dimensional and visual inspections on machined or prepared components Opportunity to rotate through the finishing department and receiving to gain exposure to load tests, hydrostatic (hydro) tests, paint inspections, and receiving inspection Maintain organized inspection documentation and ensure clear communication with fabrication and quality personnel Option to receive structured on-the-job training to begin accruing hours towards

Qualifications:
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand tools, gauges, or mechanical equipment Ability to read and interpret basic engineering or fabrication drawings Strong attention to detail and a desire to grow in the field of quality inspection Willingness to work in fabrication shop and field environments with appropriate PPE Basic math and measurement skills (e.g., using calipers, micrometers, or tape measures) High school diploma or GED required; trade school or welding/fabrication coursework a plus Standing 9 hours per day in shop environment Preferred (but not required): Experience or coursework in welding, machining, or mechanical inspection Familiarity with pneumatic or hydrostatic testing setups Exposure to NDE/NDT principles or desire to pursue a career as a

REQUIREMENTS
AVANTech is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Fabrication Setup and Tester to support the inspection and testing of equipment. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with tools, can read drawings, and are looking to start a career in welding and fabrication inspection. The position offers the option of rotation through various departments for future growth such as Receiving, Tool Room, Finishing as time permits.
