Quality Engineer

Job Summary Seeking a quality and manufacturing support professional to ensure aerospace components and assemblies meet strict safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in a highly regulated AS9100 environment. This role supports production operations and contributes to product conformity, process improvement, and compliance with aerospace standards. Key Responsibilities Perform inspection and verification of aerospace components, subassemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements Review work instructions, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure product conformity Identify, document, and manage nonconforming materials through quarantine and quality hold processes Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities (RCCA/CAPA) for manufacturing defects and quality issues Assist with calibration, gauge control, and use of precision measurement tools and CMM equipment Participate in internal and external audits and support AS9100 quality system compliance Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and reporting of inspection results Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within production cells Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required (associate or bachelor's degree preferred depending on level) Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or other regulated production environments Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings Experience with precision measuring tools and inspection processes U.S. work authorization required (depending on role requirements) Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing (AS9100 environment) First Article Inspection (FAI) / AS9102 experience Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D, 5 Whys experience Experience with CMM, SPC, and calibration systems Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration Experience supporting audits and quality system compliance
