Job DescriptionThe position is in the Product Engineering group, PS-DC/ENP1-NA, located in Charleston, SC. The candidate should be able to independently perform a variety of development, design and testing related tasks. Good engineering knowledge of diesel FIE product functionality and application, component performance and durability testing, and dimensional and materials/chemical analytical methods commonly used in FIE component root cause analyses. Demonstrated experience in supporting and leading cross-functional teams and applying structured problem solving. The candidate should demonstrate self-initiative and utilize technical expertise to improve quality, reduce warranty cost and increase NA customer satisfaction. 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Component responsible for diesel injector testing and assessing functionality for NA productEffective technical communication with customers and Bosch Global product and testing expertiseOverall responsibility for onsite component test bench operation and developmentProvide guidance and training to technicians to promote high quality test practicesAnalyze sample returns and field failures for diesel Common Rail productsInvestigate functional, design, and contamination issues on components using dimensional, surface, and material/chemical analytical equipmentEvaluate test data, field trends, and component assembly data using modern "Big Data" methodsCommunicate component investigations and root cause analyses, in detailed technical reportTo be successful in this role, the Associate should have: High level of teamwork, self-initiative and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment Ability to inspire others to collaborate and support tasks and projectsDemonstrate result and deadline orientation. Enthusiasm to explore, visualize and analyze dataDriven to learn new skills and analytical methodsAccomplished and proficient in creating and delivering clear concise presentations Motivated by innovation and the potential for new technologyQualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Mechanical Engineering Degree (BS) or equivalent Engineering degree with 5 + yrs experience in product quality, development, manufacturing, or customer support of Common Rail Products.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings including tolerance calculations.

Analytical ability to evaluate test results and write reports, EC's, concessions, etc..Experience in structured problem solving, statistical data analysis to drive to root cause.

Excellent communication and interaction skills.

Use of electronic BOM systems and related software to define technical product content (SAP)Excellent writing and communication skills.

Ability to work in a high stress environment, with competing cross functional teams, and obtain results.

Willingness to travel and possibly complete a "tour of duty" with other Engineering groups in the US or in Europe.
PREFERRED
Demonstrated secondary language proficiency, German or Portuguese.5 years experience with Common Rail products and their function.

Application experience of structured problem solving (i.e., Shainin)Proficient with data analysis using Python-based "big data" analysis software, such as Jupyter or Power BIAbility to handle and use specialized lab test equipment, particularly SEM/EDX.Additional InformationIndefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only.
