Quality Assurance Technician (1st Shift)
Location:
Piedmont, SC Pay:
$23.17/hour
Shift:
1st Shift (Overtime as Needed) Position Summary JTEKT is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support manufacturing operations by performing inspections, verifying product quality, and assisting with manufacturing problem solving in a high-volume automotive environment. This role works closely with production to ensure products meet customer specifications while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Perform dimensional inspections on components and assemblies using precision measuring equipment. Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections. Assist with product testing and verification activities. Support investigations and containment of nonconforming material. Participate in manufacturing problem solving and root cause analysis. Maintain inspection records and quality documentation. Support 5S, preventive maintenance, and general quality lab housekeeping. Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure customer requirements are met. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Previous quality inspection experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment . Experience using precision measuring tools such as: Calipers Micrometers Height gauges Indicators Other inspection equipment Ability to read engineering drawings and inspection documentation. Experience with manufacturing problem solving and working with production teams. Stable work history and strong attention to detail. Preferred (Not Required) CMM operation or programming experience. GD&T and SPC experience. Gage calibration experience. Heat treat inspection or metallurgy exposure. Weld inspection or weld testing experience. Experience working within IATF 16949 or ISO quality systems. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Has a strong quality background in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
