Qualifications:
3-5 years' experience in a quality inspection field related to a machining or manufacturing environment or 2-year technical degree with 3 years' experience. Demonstrated proficiency in GD&T print interpretation and inspection techniques. Demonstrated proficiency in traditional surface plate layout techniques and measurement tools. Experience in advanced metrology inspection techniques is a plus; including CMM, vision systems, optical comparators and form scanning or contour tracing equipment. Ability to support training of production personnel to standards defined by internal procedure and/or customer specifications. Knowledge, experience, and understanding of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System Standards. Prior process auditing experience is desired. Previous experience using SAP is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Inspection of diamond wheels, dressers, rolls and tool products at various stages of the process to define specifications. Dimensional verification of products and materials using applicable measuring instruments and methods as defined on control plans, drawings, and specifications. Ensure disposition of nonconforming product including marking the defect type on the part, container, or other documentation as required. Work from drawings, charts, or specifications to determine product requirements, including GD&T criteria, hole location(s), surface finish, material defects, appearance criteria, etc. Prepare certification packages and/or other quality documentation to the customer and/or as required by the QMS (Quality Management Systems). Inspect tools for conformance. Support production functions and processes with MSA/GR&R/Capability studies. Support engineering functions with routine equipment inspections. Support engineering functions with equipment and process validations, as necessary. Support internal process and quality management system auditing functions as required. Perform supplier quality related and outgoing dock audit inspections.
