Quality Control Specialist 2805 Riverport Rd Chattanooga, TN Full‑Time On‑Site Company Overview Nichols Fleet Equipment has established itself as a leader in truck equipment installation, service, and manufacturing for over 30 years. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to deliver efficient, high-quality solutions to a diverse range of industries, including construction, mining, utilities, and municipal services. About the Role We're looking for a Quality Control Specialist to support technician development, strengthen production quality, and ensure every truck leaving our facility meets NFE standards. Additionally, we are looking for someone who can also serve as a Production Lead. If you enjoy teaching, problem‑solving, and working hands‑on in a fast‑paced production environment, this role is a strong fit. Responsibilities & Duties Train & Support Technicians — Teach company standards, guide new hires, and provide ongoing support to current technicians. Track Progress — Monitor new hire performance and recommend training improvements. Reinforce Safety — Ensure PPE use and compliance with all safety policies. Perform Quality Control — Conduct full QC inspections on all trucks, verify build completion, and address quality concerns. Complete QC Repairs — Perform necessary QC repairs and coordinate long‑duration or technician‑specific fixes. Prepare Builds — Stage trucks for decals, programming, spring shop work, and ensure all pre‑QC tasks are complete. Collaborate Across Departments — Work with Operations, QC, Sales, and Parts to resolve issues and improve processes. Improve Processes — Help develop standard build procedures, simplify Build Kits, and reduce rework. Provide Flex Support — Float between workstations, assist with production tasks, and maintain strong communication. Proactive Quality Control
  • Identify risks and process gaps early to protect production quality, reduce rework, and uphold high accuracy standards. Workstation Engagement & Team Rapport
  • Maintain visibility on the floor, support team members directly, and build trust through clear communication and hands‑on engagement. Production Manager Support
  • Assist with training, onboarding, standards reinforcement, scheduling, and planning. Provide guidance and step into leadership duties when needed. Communication & Task Awareness
  • Stay current on updates and directives through consistent email review.
Respond promptly to ensure smooth, coordinated operations.
