Strata-G is seeking an experienced Quality Eng. III - Sr. QA Eng. I (Certified Welding Inspector) with the following:
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspections:
Conduct visual (VT) inspections of welding fabrication, fit-ups, and joint preparation.NDE:
Perform or monitor Nondestructive Examination (NDE) methods, including but not limited to Liquid Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT), in accordance withASNT SNT-TC-IA.
Quality Compliance:
Ensure all fabrication activities adhere strictly to the requirements of design specifications, codes, standards and other regulatory requirements.Oversee Weld Activities:
compliance of base metals, proper fit-up, cleanliness and conditions, support repair activities.Documentation:
Prepare, review, and approve detailed inspection reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and supporting documentation.Program Support:
Review Welding Procedure Specifications and Qualification Records.Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, fabrication teams, and clients to resolve welding quality issue!Safety:
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety standards (e.g., fall protection, confined spaces) Other duties as assigned.JOB KNOWLEDGE
AWS Certification:
Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). NQA-1Experience:
Experience performing welding inspections in anASME NQA-1
nuclear-regulated environment.ASNT Certification:
ASNT SNT-TC-1 A
Level II certification in Visual Testing (VT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT). Magnetic Particle (MT) is highly preferred.Code Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of ASME Section III, Section IX, 831.1/831.3, and AWS Dl.1/Dl.6.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings and welding symbols.Job-Related Qualifications Required:
Grade 24:Education:
Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, quality control management or engineering discipline such as mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or other related technical field or demonstrated equivalent combination.Experience:
4+ years of related experience required. Performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities. Guidance is provided by more experienced Quality Assurance Engineers in the implementation of the quality assurance program on one of the functional groups or on a project. Grade 25:Education:
Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, quality control management or engineering discipline such as mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or other related technical field or demonstrated equivalent combination.Experience:
7+ years of related experience required. Performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities. Guidance is provided by more experienced Quality Assurance Engineers in the implementation of the quality assurance program on one of the functional groups or on a project. Grade 26:Education:
Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, quality control management or engineering discipline such as mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or other related technical field or demonstrated equivalent combinationExperience:
10+ years of related experience required. Performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities. Guidance is provided by more experienced Quality Assurance Engineers in the implementation of the quality assurance program on one of the functional groups or on a project.Job Type:
Contract/Full-Time Job Location:
Oak Ridge, TN. Onsite only. Strata-G will not sponsor applicants for immigrant or non-immigrant work visas.
