MC - Parts Quality Inspector

General Description of Position:

Performs product inspections/audits to verify conformance to established requirements. Documents and communicates results of inspections/audits to appropriate leadership. Participates in problem-solving meetings and activities, as needed. Performs other duties as identified by the Quality Engineer/Supervisor.

Duties:

Through visual examination, testing, etc. compare actual product quality and/or process to established by (a) posted or written rules, settings, or instructions, (b) common plant knowledge, or (c) other means of communicating requirements as understood by process personnel. Record and input inspection data and/or audits in various systems to document findings. Notify manufacturing and QA leadership regarding product quality problems.

Education & Work Experience :

High school diploma and experience in marine manufacturing processes.

Environmental and Working Conditions:

The Quality Inspector may work in areas without heat or air conditioning while standing or walking the majority of the shift. There will also be limited time working on a personal computer each day to document and communicate inspection results. Some moderate lifting may be necessary (boxes with small parts; less than 50 pounds).

Skills & Aptitudes:

Language skills - Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns and the ability to speak conversational English. Reasoning skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products. Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.
