JOB SUMMARY
Works under the direction of the Quality Control Lead. Performs detailed inspections of materials, parts, and assemblies to maintain a consistent and high level of quality for all BMD products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect materials, products, and work in process for conformance to specifications. Collect samples for testing, and compute findings. Read dials and meters to verify functioning of equipment according to specifications. Analyze and interpret blueprints, sample data, and other materials to determine, change, or measure specifications or inspection and testing procedures. Test and measure finished products, components, or assemblies for functioning, operation, accuracy, or assembly to verify adherence to functional specifications. Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure proper assembly of parts or assist in testing and monitoring activities. Mark items for acceptance or rejection, record test results and inspection data, and compare findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards. Confer with vendors and others regarding inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and compile reports of results, recommendations, and needed repairs.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and use of precision metrology equipment/techniques: Micrometers, Calipers, Thread and Pin Gauges, Surface Plates and Height Gauges. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, 2D and 3D models. Ability to maintain neat and organized records/files.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES
Regularly lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive assembly tasks with sustained focus Manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with variable noise levels.
