  • Full-time Essential Job Duties Assist Quality Control team in day-to-day tasks to help daily operations flow efficiently.
Conduct & document organoleptic testing of both intermediates and finished products for approval before release to warehouse and packaging. Evaluate & document sensory evaluations on incoming raw materials before release to general warehouse. Implement QC Hold program for out of spec batches and determine appropriate corrective actions. Assist with evaluating pre-shipment samples of raw materials as needed. Perform raw material vendor evaluations in collaboration with the Purchasing dept. Perform flashpoint analysis of products & generate Safety Data Sheets and product label templates. Run the laser diffraction particle size analyzer on finished products as needed. Take microscope pictures and document results on a lot-by-lot basis. Collect and prepare samples for in-house allergen testing, and 3rd Party microbiological testing. Collect & send co-shipment samples upon customer request. Generate Packing Lists and COAs prior to shipment of orders. Inspect outgoing shipments to verify order count, labeling accuracy, and destination address before authorizing final release to shipping. Send emails as directed. Compound stability tests for finished flavors, and on occasion compound lab samples of flavors for observation and evaluation. Evaluate and document on-hand inventory for possible shelf-life extensions. Re-label products in the warehouse accordingly. Perform quarterly warehouse traffic/environmental swabs and collect samples for potability. Maintain laboratory organization and upkeep. Maintain retain samples of raw materials and finished products. File documents accordingly. Check emails frequently and respond to COA and SDS requests in a timely manner. Competencies Minimum B.S. degree in Food Science or related field. Familiarity of HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs. 1-3 years of laboratory experience Ability to follow directions, effective team communication skills Strong attention to detail Technologically proficient Ability to multi-task and be flexible with changing priorities Thrive in a team environment and work well with others Problem solving skills Basic math skills
