The Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying that incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products conform to applicable drawings, codes, specifications, and customer requirements. This role performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections using appropriate measuring and inspection methods; reviews and archives material test reports (MTRs); and ensures full product traceability and documentation. The Quality Inspector also supports shipping activities and work order closeout while contributing to continuous improvement and compliance efforts. Responsibilities/Duties Demonstrate Crane core values, including Genuine Care and Concern, Helpfulness, and Integrity. Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and quality requirements. Review, verify, and archive Material Test Reports (MTRs) to ensure material compliance and traceability. Conduct dimensional inspections, including squareness, alignment, and geometric tolerances using calibrated measuring tools and gauges. Perform and document inspections using required tools, gauges, and techniques, including Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) when applicable. Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and inspection criteria. Ensure product conformity to drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. Maintain complete and accurate inspection records, inspection reports, and quality documentation. Support shipping and logistics activities, including final inspection approval, release of product, and documentation verification prior to shipment. Support work order closeout, ensuring inspection records and quality documentation are complete and properly filed. Coordinate third-party NDE services when required. Maintain inspection tools, gauges, and equipment, ensuring proper handling and calibration status. Use computer systems to document inspection results, communicate nonconformances, and support inter-departmental coordination. Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action activities. Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and external inspections as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and safety requirements. Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements, and Certifications High school diploma or equivalency certificate. 2+ years' experience with quality inspection. Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment; cryogenic or pressure piping system experience preferred. Working knowledge of surface and subsurface NDE methodologies. Proficient in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria. Experience using precision measuring tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, squares, gauges, etc.). Basic computer skills for documentation, data entry, and communication. Special Requirements Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be a legal resident of the United States with reliable transportation. Must be able to work in both shop and office environments.Work Environment Shop Environment:
Exposure to loud noise, welding fumes, and fluctuating temperatures (The workshop is climate-controlled). Requires use of PPE including but not limited to safety glasses, gloves, Ear Plug and steel toe shoe.Office Environment:
