Full-Time About Dirt Rocks Dirt Rocks is a leading aggregate materials supplier and trucking broker serving contractors, developers, municipalities, and construction companies throughout Central Texas. We specialize in sourcing and transporting sand, gravel, crushed rock, fill dirt, and other aggregate materials while providing exceptional customer service and reliable logistics solutions. Position Overview Dirt Rocks is seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Scale House Operator to join our Waco team. This position serves as the first point of contact for truck drivers and customers entering our facility. The Scale House Operator is responsible for weighing trucks, processing load tickets, maintaining accurate records, and supporting daily yard operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have strong computer skills, and possess excellent attention to detail. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks using scale systems. Issue scale tickets and other required documentation. Verify customer orders, material types, quantities, and destination information. Communicate effectively with truck drivers, dispatch personnel, customers, yard staff and supervisors. Maintain accurate records of daily truck traffic and material movements. Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with order inquiries. Process payments and customer transactions when required. Monitor truck flow and ensure adherence to company safety procedures. Perform data entry and administrative support tasks. Report operational discrepancies, safety concerns, or equipment issues to direct supervisor. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in a scale house, trucking, dispatch, logistics, construction, or aggregate materials environment preferred. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and data entry. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and DMV/MVR review. Preferred Qualifications Experience with aggregate materials, trucking operations, or construction industries. Familiarity with scale software and ticketing systems. Knowledge of trucking terminology and basic transportation documentation. Experience handling customer service and administrative duties. Bilingual a Plus Work Environment Office setting located within an active aggregate and trucking operation. Regular interaction with truck drivers, contractors, and customers. Occasional exposure to dust, weather conditions, and heavy equipment activity.
