This energetic position involves conducting comprehensive testing and inspection of various construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry. You'll be at the forefront of quality control, working outdoors on active construction sites, collecting data, and collaborating with engineers and contractors to uphold project integrity. Responsibilities Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and masonry in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards. Conduct quality inspections on construction materials during different phases of project development to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Collect, record, and analyze data accurately using technical proficiency in data collection tools and software like Microsoft Office. Assist in concrete forming inspections, construction site evaluations, and soil testing procedures to support project quality control efforts. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding test results, material conditions, and project requirements. Maintain detailed documentation of test results, inspection reports, and compliance records for project files. Preferred Experience Previous laboratory experience or hands-on experience in construction materials testing is preferred. Knowledge of ASTM standards, AASHTO standards, and American Concrete Institute (ACI) standards related to construction materials. Experience working outdoors on active construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions. Strong understanding of basic math skills for data analysis and measurement accuracy. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for report writing and data management. Construction site experience with a focus on concrete forming, masonry work, soil testing, or asphalt is advantageous. Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for quality inspection tasks. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members about technical findings. Demonstrated ability to perform construction inspection tasks safely while maintaining high standards of quality control.
