Full Job Description Structural Steel Quality Control Specialist Location:

Shift Starting Pay:
$31/hour — higher pay available based on experience Position Overview Seeking a Structural Steel Quality Control Specialist to inspect fabricated steel components and help maintain quality standards in an AISC-certified facility. Experienced senior structural steel fitters and fabricators with strong quality knowledge may also be considered. Responsibilities Inspect structural steel fabrication throughout the production process Compare fabricated materials with shop drawings, specifications, and required standards Perform in-process and final inspections , including dimensional layout and part placement Identify, document, and follow up on nonconforming work in accordance with
D1.1/D1.5
Work with fabrication and production teams to investigate and correct quality concerns Support ongoing quality improvement efforts Assist with preparation for and participation in annual AISC QC audits Qualifications 3-5 years of structural steel layout and fabrication experience Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes and quality requirements Welding certification in D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred Senior-level structural steel fitter/fabricator experience with quality inspection knowledge will be considered Schedule Monday-Friday \u007C 1st Shift Saturday overtime available We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
