ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence. Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and instructions. Inspect completed assemblies for compliance to quality and engineering requirements. This includes verification of Synchrony products through measurement and visual inspections. Inspect incoming components from suppliers. Documentation of any non-conformances. Complete first article inspections on new parts received from suppliers. Calibrate and maintain tools, fixtures, and/or instruments. Complete quality reports to communicate measurements and findings of inspections for manufacturing, engineering and/or suppliers. Acquire, analyze, and report quality information as required by the quality system. Support efforts to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area. Responsible for understanding and complying with the quality policy, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-being. Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track performance of manufacturing processes and external suppliers. Prepare, review, and evaluate data and develop recommendations for use by facility management.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.
Education Required:
High School Diploma Preferred:
Two-year degree in electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, or related technical degree and/or supporting technical certificate programs. Required Experience At least two years of experience working in a light industrial or machine shop setting preferred. Experience working with precision parts and assemblies preferred. Technical aptitude and ability to read/understand work instructions and engineering drawings. Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, PPAP, statistical process control (SPC) and lean business systems. Language Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Skills Must be able to use basic measurement devices, such as micrometers, calipers, and indicator gauges. Must be able to an operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, inspection procedures, statistical process control and manufacturing processes. Must have excellent problem solving, analytical, communication and teamwork skills. Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to gather, compile and present information to a wide range of internal and external audiences. Exhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency and comfort in making recommendations across broad teams. Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Physical Demands Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move material per Synchrony lifting standards. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must not have issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to moving and/or heated mechanical parts, adhesive fumes, airborne particles, and energized electrical systems. Moderate noise levels are present for limited periods of time. All necessary PPE (personal protective equipment) and safety training will be provided by the company.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE
$17.30 - $25.90 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
