- Position Summary
- PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced
- Quality Inspector III
- to support inspection and quality assurance activities in Sterling, Virginia.
This role is responsible for performing complex inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) on a variety of components and systems, ensuring products meet stringent quality standards before delivery to customers. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical inspection skills, the ability to interpret engineering documentation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of product quality.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
+ Read, interpret, and apply quality procedures, engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics. + Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured, assembled, and tested hardware and components. + Utilize computer systems and quality databases, including SAP and engineering information systems, to document and perform inspection activities. + Verify work order documentation for completeness and accuracy. + Conduct visual and physical inspections of units, assemblies, and subassemblies. + Perform unit shakedowns to identify foreign objects, loose hardware, or abnormal conditions. + Maintain and manage inspection records and quality documentation. + Conduct Preliminary Material Reviews (PMR) as required. + Support third-party source inspections. + Perform additional quality assurance duties as assigned. + Travel occasionally to customer sites (approximately 5%, including overnight travel of up to one week).
- Required Qualifications
- + High School Diploma, GED, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
+ Minimum of 2 years of relevant quality inspection experience. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. + Experience using precision inspection and measurement tools. + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. + Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. + Must successfully complete a post-offer vision examination, including visual acuity and color vision requirements. + Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance. + U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Preferred Qualifications
- + 5+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector in lieu of formal education. + Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries. + Familiarity with SAP, engineering information systems, and quality documentation processes. + Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and inspection standards.
