Job Description

Entry Level Positions Available! Viola Engineering has a full time opening in our Winchester office for an engineering field technician. Experience is preferred, however we provide training and certifications for entry level technicians. The ideal candidate shall be ambitious, self-investing, and take the initiative to learn details of the job requirements, and develop superlative communication skills (both vocal and written) to advance in this position. Viola Engineering, PC was established in 2003 and is a full service geotechnical and construction materials testing firm. The quality of our services is substantiated by our in-depth knowledge of the geology of the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding counties. We specialize in providing expert investigation, materials testing, and site construction observations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including, but not limited to soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry Soil and concrete laboratory testing Documenting observations daily in written digital field reports Interacting and communicating effectively with site contractors, other technicians, project managers and engineers Ability to understand construction documents, details, and specifications.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
High School Degree Valid Driver's license with clean driving record, must be over the age of 23 to drive a company truck Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Basic computer/tablet, Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities Attention to detail Candidates must be able to lift 50-75 pounds on occasional basis and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outside Ability to pass a background check/driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
