II / CMM
Operator to support a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring product quality and compliance through detailed inspection of machined parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong CMM experience, blueprint reading skills, and a solid background in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
Compensation:
$21.75-$32.25/hr
DOE Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm and Mon-Thursday 2pm to 12:30am ($2 differential)
Location:
Kent, WA Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections on machined aerospace parts and assemblies Utilize precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, air gauges, and radius gauges Conduct basic to moderate layouts and setups using a surface plate Operate and utilize CMM equipment (CMM Manager experience preferred) Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and customer specifications to ensure compliance Identify and document non-conforming parts and initiate nonconformance reports Support root cause analysis and collaborate on corrective actions and rework processes Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives for inspection processes Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding quality issues and resolutions Maintain accurate inspection documentation and records Provide guidance or training to manufacturing personnel as needed Follow all safety protocols and maintain regular on-site attendance
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required Associate degree or vocational training in a related field preferred Minimum 2+ years of QA inspection experience in machining or manufacturing environments Aerospace industry experience strongly preferred Hands-on experience with CMM equipment required (programming a plus) Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills, including GD&T Proficient in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) Solid math skills including working with fractions and decimals Understanding of nonconforming product and quality standards Basic computer skills; experience with Excel and ERP systems is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs Ability to climb stairs or ladders as needed Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally Strong visual acuity for reading measuring instruments and identifying defects Manual dexterity to operate tools, instruments, and computer equipment
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to: High noise levels (hearing protection required) Dust, fumes, and varying temperatures Heavy machinery and moving equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear
Additional Requirements:
Position is classified as safety-sensitive Must meet ITAR compliance requirements
