Job Description
SmartHire is looking for a Quality CMM Inspector/Programmer for a client in Pierce County. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of aerospace quality inspection and 3+ years of CMM programming/operating. Must have experience within Aerospace. This is a Full Time, Direct Hire role that is fully onsite.

Aerospace Position Summary The Quality CMM Inspector and Programmer performs CMM programming, in-process and final inspections, and first article inspection documentation for precision aerospace and defense components. This role ensures parts meet drawing, customer, and quality-system requirements. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CMM equipment using CMM Manager software. Perform in-process, final, and first article inspections on machined, sheet metal, and assembled parts. Read and interpret aerospace blueprints, GD&T, engineering documents, specifications, and revision levels. Prepare AS9102 Form 3, inspection sheets, technical data packages, bubble drawings, and related quality records. Use precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other measuring tools. Review 2D drawings and 3D models, create derivative drawings, and verify models used for CNC programming. Document nonconformance's, required adjustments, and part rework in accordance with established procedures. Maintain accurate inspection and calibration documentation. Qualifications Three or more years of aerospace quality inspection experience. Three or more years of CMM programming and operating experience. Strong knowledge of metrology, GD&T, andAS9100, AS9102, ISO
9001, and ITAR requirements. Proficiency with CMM Manager, Discus, Enovia, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat;- Infor Visual experience is a plus. Strong math, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills with close attention to detail. High school diploma or equivalent; industry-specific training or additional education is preferred. Ability to stand, sit, and bend for extended periods in a machine shop and office environment.
