Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. Responsibilities Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented CMM / Quality Inspector to support dimensional inspection, quality assurance, and customer compliance for aerospace components. This role is critical to ensuring product integrity, adherence to engineering requirements, and compliance with customer and industry standards. The ideal candidate has strong CMM experience, advanced blueprint interpretation skills, and a solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate Coordinate Measuring Systems (CMS), including CMMs, to perform precise dimensional inspections on aerospace products. Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models, including GD&T, tolerances, customer specifications, and technical requirements. Inspect purchased and internally manufactured parts for conformance to purchase orders, drawings/models, and applicable specifications. Apply GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5, working with tolerances down to .xxxxxx precision. Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections following established work instructions. Use engineering drawings, models, specifications, QA standards, and test procedures to determine product acceptance. Document acceptance or rejection results, complete nonconformance documentation, and perform required ERP system transactions. Program CMM routines to support efficient, repeatable future measurements. Conduct final quality inspections for customer shipments. Qualifications Education & Experience 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, ideally within aerospace or precision manufacturing. Documented training in blueprint reading, precision measurement, and applied mathematics. Hands on experience interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.). Working knowledge of aerospace products, production processes, and assembly methods. Proficient in researching, interpreting, and applying customer specifications, work instructions, and procedural requirements. Experience with CMM programming software, such as Zeiss
CALYPSO, PC
DMIS, or similar platforms. Experience with model based definition (MBD) tools; familiarity with CREO is a plus. General working knowledge of CREO, SOLIDWORKS, and CATIA for reviewing engineering models and digital product definition. AS13001 certification (or progress toward it) is a plus. Ability to perform DSQR (Designated Source Quality Representative) responsibilities for customer required inspections preferred.Position Pay Range:
