Job Description

Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector inspects electrical components, wiring, and assemblies in tanks and enclosures to ensure they meet internal standards, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures. This role performs visual and functional inspections, conducts basic electrical testing, and documents results in quality records. When electrical inspections are not required, the Quality Inspector supports general quality control activities across welding, assembly, paint, and material handling operations. Responsibilities Perform visual and functional inspections of electrical components and assemblies in tanks and enclosures to verify compliance with standards, drawings, and SOPs. Verify proper function of GFI outlets, lights, and dampers through visual inspection, photos, and video documentation. Check and confirm torque markings and conduit markings, applying additional inspection marks as needed to indicate verification. Conduct basic electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity verification, using appropriate testing equipment. Document inspection results, non-conformances, and test data accurately in quality records, reports, and other required documentation. Identify, isolate, and report defects or deviations in electrical assemblies to the appropriate quality and electrical leadership. Perform general quality control inspections in non-electrical areas such as welding, assembly, paint, and material handling when electrical inspections are not required. Collaborate with production and quality teams to support corrective actions and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Work independently across multiple production areas while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance. Essential Skills Experience in electrical inspection, electrical assembly, or electrical testing in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and relevant standards such as UL, NEC, and IEC. Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and continuity testers. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify deviations, defects, and non-conformances in electrical and mechanical components. Excellent documentation skills for accurately recording inspection results, non-conformances, and test data. Effective communication skills to clearly report issues and collaborate with quality and production teams. Strong problem-solving skills to help identify root causes and support corrective actions. Ability to work independently and flexibly across multiple production areas while managing changing priorities. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or technical certification in electrical technology preferred. Manufacturing experience with tanks, enclosures, or industrial panels is preferred. Familiarity with general quality control inspections in welding, assembly, or paint processes is a plus. Comfort using photos and video to document inspection activities and results. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You will work in a manufacturing environment that includes tanks, enclosures, and related industrial equipment, with regular interaction across electrical, welding, assembly, paint, and material handling areas. The role involves hands-on use of electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers, as well as visual inspection tools and digital devices for photo and video documentation. The environment requires adherence to standard safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Manitowoc, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
