Job Description
Quality Inspector (Machining / Fabrication) - AWS CWI Required Full-Time | On-Site We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector with an active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification to support a high-mix machining and fabrication environment. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that plays a critical part in ensuring dimensional accuracy, weld quality compliance, and complete PPAP documentation. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dimensional inspections in support of PPAP submissions, including full layouts and ballooned print verification Inspect machined and fabricated components using advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation Conduct weld inspections in accordance with AWS and ASME codes utilizing CWI-level expertise Verify incoming, in-process, and final product quality against engineering drawings and customer specifications Document nonconformances and support root cause analysis and corrective action processes Collaborate with machining, fabrication, and production teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready quality records and documentation Required Qualifications Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification Hands-on experience in quality inspection within machining and/or fabrication environments Experience completing PPAP documentation and full dimensional layouts Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T Solid mathematical skills, including geometry and tolerance stack-up analysis Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS and ASME welding codes beyond CWI fundamentals Experience using Faro Arm or other portable CMM measurement systems Background inspecting tight-tolerance machined and/or welded components
