Job Title:
Sr. Quality Control Technician Job Description The Sr. Quality Control Technician plays a crucial role in our contract job shop environment, which specializes in sheet metal fabrication. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this Sr. position is responsible for thorough inspection and documentation, including managing the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) requirements. The role involves promoting a culture of continuous improvement in both quality systems and production processes. Responsibilities Conduct meticulous inspections and documentation of sheet metal fabrication processes. Oversee PPAP and ISIR requirements to ensure compliance and quality standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems and production processes. Act as a change agent by advocating for process enhancements. Encourage open communication and collaboration to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements. Champion the adoption of best practices throughout the organization. Essential Skills Minimum of three years of experience in welding and/or welding inspection. Experience in a job shop or contract manufacturing environment (not OEM). Expertise in sheet metal fabrication, press brake operations, and quality assurance. Experience with ISO 9001 and internal audits. Proficient in writing quality reports and documentation. Strong customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Quality Control. 3+ years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience in powder coating is advantageous. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility in start and end times as long as it aligns with company needs. Occasional overtime may be required on Fridays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.26/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
